What is SAP*?
The SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (It was originated in Germany. German language - Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung). SAP is one of the most leading ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) softwares. Because of SAP's liberal open-architecture, there are millions of programmers working around the world to provide interaction between thousands of major softwares and SAP.

SAP Modules Offered:
  SAP FICO
Financial and Controlling comprises: Financial Accounting - Designed for automated management and external reporting of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other sub-ledger accounts with a user defined chart of accounts. As entries are made relating to sales production and payments journal entries are automatically posted. This connection means that the "books" are designed to reflect the real situation; Controlling - Represents the company's flow of cost and revenue. It is a management instrument for organizational decisions. It too is automatically updated as events occur.

  SAP SD
Sales and Distribution - Helps to optimize all the tasks and activities carried out in sales, delivery and billing. Key elements are: pre-sales support, inquiry processing, quotation processing, sales order processing, delivery processing, billing and sales information system.

  SAP MM
Material Management - Supports the procurement and inventory functions occurring in day-to-day business operations such as purchasing, inventory management, reorder point processing, etc. The module has two important master data - material and vendor. Broadly, the various levels that can be defined for a SAP MM implementation are: Client, Company Code, Plant, Storage Location and Purchase Organization.

  SAP CRM
Supports all "customer-facing" processes throughout the entire customer relationship life cycle from market segmentation, lead generation and opportunities to post-sales and customer service. Includes business scenarios such as field sales and service, customer interaction center and internet sales and service. CRM Profile describes a finite list of freely definable attributes and attribute values relating to business partners or products and used for marketing purposes.

  SAP SRM
Suppliers once were just a source of goods. But today companies expect their suppliers to play a larger role, providing value they can pass on to their customers. SAP Supply Relationship Management solution lets companies evaluate their supply and sourcing strategy to lower procurement costs. It also helps them work more closely with their suppliers to build beneficial long-term relationships.   SAP ABAP/4
Advanced Business Application Programming is a high level programming language created by the German software company SAP. It is currently positioned, alongside the more recently introduced Java, as the language for programming SAP's Web Application Server, part of its NetWeaver platform for building business applications. Its syntax is somewhat similar to COBOL.

  SAP SEM
SAP Strategic Enterprise Management is part of the MySAP ERP software. It is also called MySAP Financials SEM. It is the Strategic Enterprise Management solution. It delivers end-to-end capabilities to support financial consolidation, strategy and performance management life cycle, including: Consolidated financial reporting; Planning, budgeting, and forecasting; Corporate performance management and scorecards; Risk management - SAP SEM RM helps you identify, quantify, and analyze business risks within individual business units and manage risk-reducing activities.

  SAP HR
Human Resources - This module demonstrates how you can use the graphical Human Resources Information System to display evaluations on the organization, personnel situation, and course offerings within your enterprise. The standard R/3 System contains basic evaluations that you can modify using the Implementation Guide in accordance with your information requirements. This process chain is limited to standard evaluations that provide information on the organization itself, the personnel situation, and corresponding qualifications. The evaluations use an existing organizational structure.

  SAP Netweaver XI
SAP NetWeaver is SAP's integrated technology platform and is the technical foundation for all SAP applications since the SAP Business Suite. SAP NetWeaver is marketed as a service-oriented application and integration platform. SAP NetWeaver provides the development and runtime environment for SAP applications and can be used for custom development and integration with other applications and systems. SAP NetWeaver is built using open standards and industry de facto standards and can be extended with, and interoperate with technologies such as Microsoft .NET, Sun Java EE, and IBM WebSphere.

The SAP Enterprise Portal enables you to access applications from other systems and sources, such as the Internet or intranet. Using one entry point, you can reach both structured and unstructured information. In addition to content from Knowledge Management, business data from data analysis is available to you from the Internet and from the Intranet.

  SAP APO
The Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) is the software from SAP dedicated to supply chain management. The focus of this course is on introducing modeling approaches and explaining the structure and interdependencies of systems, modules and entities of APO based on the release mySAP SCM 4.1. Another concern is the integration with R/3, both technically and from a process point of view. Since APO projects differ significantly from other SAP projects, some key issues and common mistakes concerning project management are trained as well.
